The annual Forbes list of the world’s 50 most valuable sports franchises is out, with the Dallas Cowboys holding down the top spot for a fifth consecutive year.
The Cowboys, valued at $5.5 billion according to Forbes’ research, head a top 50 list still dominated by the NFL, which holds 27 spots.
Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees are right behind the Cowboys at No. 2, and NBA clubs round out the top five thanks to the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors.
Three European soccer clubs are in the top 10, headed by Real Madrid at No. 6. No NHL teams made the list this year.
